It's been a long time since I last posted. Life was crazy leading up to my big Civil Engineering Exam at the end of October and it hasn't slowed down since then.
I have a lot of posts to catch up on from the summer and recent holidays, but before all that, there's one thing I'd like to make sure all our friends and family (that I don't see everyday) know.
Long story short Brad, Connor, and I are moving to Utah!
Brad found a new job with Boeing in Ogden, UT and we are moving there in 1 week. We will be living in West Haven, just west of Ogden across I-15. Crazy, unexpected, and definitely unforeseen until 4 weeks ago. This was a very quick decision, but it wasn't without deep thought and consideration for all our options. We REALLY love living in El Segundo and had planned to be here for at least the next 5 years to finish Brad's Master's Degree and 2 year work commitment, but because he will be able to finish all that in Utah (because he will still be working for Boeing) and because we will be able to buy a house, this is a good decision for our family right now.
We are so sad to leave my family, all our friends, and this beautiful area, but we are so excited for the opportunities that await us in Utah. Not to mention, all of Brad's family is in Utah and I will have several aunts, uncles, and cousins close by, as well as my grandparents a short drive away in Idaho.
Thanks to everyone who have supported us in this big life alteration. Endings are sad, but beginnings and change are exciting. This offer is open to any of you who will be in the Ogden, UT area - if you ever need a place to stay, you are all welcome in our home.
To all our friends and family in Utah, get ready to play! Here we come!!!

wow that's crazy!!! One week??!! You've got A LOT of packing to do missy! If we still lived there, I would totally offer to watch Connor for you- I know how difficult it is to pack with a child pulling on your pant leg every 15 minutes! Gosh good luck! And good for Brad, I'm glad things worked out for you guys. Are you bummed to leave your job? I'm sorry too though, I know how much you guys loved your ward and El Segundo- hopefully your new ward will be just as good and getting a house you can afford will make up for leaving El Segundo. Good luck again! Thanks for keeping us informed and congrats on the job! :)
whoa! i'm glad you blogged it. that's huge....and it's december. sure it won't be as sunny but you can own a home! that's amazing. your forever rent paying cousin is jealous.
we're praying for you guys!
Yay, yay, yay!! I'm so excited you guys are going to be here in 1 week!! I wish I could go out there and help you pack with Brenda and Cami. I'd gladly pack up your apartment rather than take my finals. ; )
Danielle that is such exciting news!!!! Congratulations!!! Being in ES is always nice while it lasts, but it's rarely a final resting place so it's nice that you'll be able to be more permanent and not feel like you're still in limbo.
I have to confess though, I was expecting to hear other life-altering news when I saw the title of your post :)
I'm so excited for you guys! And now whenever we go back to Utah we can finally visit you!!!
Welcome to Utah! Looks like a really quick move. If you need any assistance with housing, I'd love to help you out!
I say we all plan to move back to El Segundo in 30 years or so...we'd still party it up...can you imagine the fun! :) Good luck with your move...it's hard to leave such a wonderful place behind, but you can have fun anywhere you go!
I am so excited you guys are moving here!! I can't wait :)
